We save lives, reduce the risk of prosecutions and protect you against reputational damage, so you can focus on doing what you do best.

From simply ticking those Fire and Safety compliance boxes to actually making an impact.

We take Fire Safety seriously…
…and so should you

There are three good reasons why we take Fire Safety seriously:

  1. Fires can kill and injure

  2. They can cause untold damage to your business premises

  3. They damage your bottom line

If you suffer a fire in your workplace, the chances are, it will be enormously disruptive. That’s why having the right Fire Safety equipment, processes and training in place are all so important.

As a business owner, it’s your responsibility to provide your people with adequate fire safety training, as well as carrying out regular fire safety risk assessments.

When it comes to Fire Safety, we never cut corners, and we know that you’ll feel the same way. That’s why we’re here to support you through the entire training process.

Our single focus is to keep you, your people and your property protected with the very best fire safety systems.

Fire safety matters – which is why compliance is a legal requirement. Of course, you hope, as we do, that you never need to use your fire equipment, but here’s a statistic that’s worth thinking about -

Last year, The Fire and Rescue Service attended over 167,000 fires in England alone.

So – why would you take any unnecessary risk? By the time fire breaks out it will be too late.

Did you know that over 90% of premises are non-compliant. How about yours?

You’d think that, in this Health & Safety conscious age, Fire Safety compliance wouldn’t be much of an issue. Here’s another statistic for you –

92.4% of the businesses and schools we visited for the first time last year had safety issues. They were non-compliant.

What are the chances that your premises are non-compliant too? We’re not saying it would necessarily be your fault. Perhaps you were given poor advice. But – and it’s a big ‘but’. Ignorance is no excuse. It doesn’t mean that you’re not legally responsible. The law has no sympathy for ignorance.

With our fire risk assessments, you’ll have everything you need in place to make you 100% compliant with the fire regulations.

What Fire Protection steps should I take?

Step 1
You need to decide on the ‘responsible’ or ‘competent person’ for your overall fire safety. If you’re unsure about who to appoint, we’ll advise you on the necessary criteria.

Step 2
You need to look at potential fire hazards. These could include –

  • Dangerous substances, such as flammable substances or stored oxygen

  • Materials that might promote the spread of fire, heat or smoke

  • Your property’s features – was it purpose-built for fire protection?

  • The construction of your building – the materials used.

Not sure where to start? We’ll help.

Step 3
Once you’ve identified the fire hazards, you need to look at the people who might be at risk. You need to ask yourself these questions –

  1. Can my employees react quickly to a fire or an alarm?

  2. Is anyone (employees, visitors or contractors) working in a high fire risk area?

  3. Could a fire outbreak impact any other occupants, tenants or those nearby?

Step 4
Once you’ve identified the fire hazards, you need to look at the people who might be at risk. You need to ask yourself these questions –

  1. What systems are in place to detect fire?

  2. How will we alert individuals that there is a fire?

  3. What are the means of escape?

  4. What fire-fighting equipment do we have?

A good way to assess the viability o the measures you have in place is to carry out a fire drill. This will help determine whether

  • your employees have sufficient training

  • exit routes are clearly visible

  • fire safety equipment is stored in the right place and can be used correctly

Step 5
Put training and emergency plans in place.
